Physical Therapist: Provo City School District
Provide mobility-based services to students requiring specialized instruction to function in an educational environment. Duties include screening, assessing, direct intervention, equipment management, and staff/parent training.
Essential Functions:
● Collaborate with special education teams for assessments and parental communication.
● Develop and maintain compliant IEPs, student performance data, and other reports.
● Provide direct physical therapy services in educational settings from preschool to post-high.
● Train educational staff, community, and family members.
● Manage and deliver adaptive equipment.
● Use standardized assessments for decision-making.
● Advocate for students with disabilities.
● Communicate with diverse backgrounds and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications:
● Current PT licensure from the State of Utah
● Valid Driver’s License

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practices and procedures; preparing and maintaining accurate records.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: age appropriate activities/behaviors; assessment instruments and techniques; current and emerging technology; health standards and hazards; job-related codes/laws/rules/regulations/policies; treatment modalities.
ABILITY is required to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with a variety of data; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is moderate. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work priorities; communicating with persons of diverse backgrounds; meeting deadlines and schedules; working as part of a team.
Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; tracking budget expenditures. Utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is a continual opportunity to impact the organization’s services.
Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 60% walking, and 20% standing. The job is performed in a generally hazard free environment.
